This morning was ghey. I realised that I left my foundation up at Carnmoney Church last night so I had to use my crap old stuff. Mum was all Oh well walk into the centre after uni and buy some more! And I was like wtf I was barely able to afford the first bottle. And she went berserk and started throwing money at me and screaming that all I do is cause her problems and bring her down and I'm going to kill her one day and to f**k off. Um. Okay. I admit my reaction to this wasn't something I'm proud of, since I swore right back at her, told her I didn't want her money because I've got my OWN job and how I bet she just loves feeling like I depend on her or something. Then later she had this stupid smug grin on her face and was all 'Ohhh, you swore' and I was like well so did you. And she was like 'Why didn't you be the bigger person then?' except she's fifty three and she should probably be behaving better than me anyway. She seems to have a real problem with my being a Christian. She loves gloating when I trip up and do something wrong. Whatever.

Ethnomusicology was uneventful. Then I had an hour's gap in which I bought some books and hired the DVD of the screening I missed last week. Then went to English in Context and met Rebecca. After that went into town, replaced my missing makeup and came home. Boring.

DAVE GOT A CAR.

There I got to say it. 8D

Work was blah. Old Bitch was an old bitch, and it made me sad.

Then to Dave's house for dinner with his family. Which was far less terrifying than I expected. I brought up my liter and a half of ice cream and that went down really well, especially with his grandma who seems to love Choccy Bear. Two glasses of wine went to my head. I am ashamed at how badly I hold my drink.

Then we went to the Johnny Parks concert, and that was fun. Met Debi and Mike there, and was surprised to see Mel and Claire too! Yay! We all had a rave, then Mel and Mike disappeared. Turned out Mackey's car had broken down on the way to us and those guys went to sort his car. After the concert the rest of us went to help him. Then we did what we always do when in doubt: we called Pete. The snow didn't really help us much.

That is all.

Today I basically did very little in the morning. I slept late, then got up and hung out for a while. Then I wrapped Dave's birthday present (which was an AWKWARD shape to wrap and HUGE to boot!) in Simpsons paper. Pleased with myself, I helped mum with some housework then hung out for a while and guitarred and such. Then Dave's mother turned up to talk to me about Dave's birthday. Not saying anything more about that except OMG. OMG OMG.

Then was work. Which is a pretty nondescript event, truthfully.

Now I'm home.

Fascinating.

Today was my first ever cancelled lecture. I resented having to get up early to catch the train, only to be in the room ten minutes (during which I was told stuff I'd already been told in the FIRST lecture we had this week) before the lecturer was like So I'm just calling off this lecture actually, bye! Luckily, I needed to go to Belfast to get Dave his birthday present, as did my mother. So I went to Starbucks, grabbed a low fat Macchiato (I am loving their new lower-fat cappuccinos, lattes, etc that they do now. They taste the exact same) and hung out til my train came to take me on to Great Vic, since I didn't fancy walking there in the snow.
Train Man: Ticket Love?
Me: *Hands over ticket. It's a return from Carrickfergus - Great Victoria Street. Bot is BEFORE Great Vic, but a ticket to Bot and Great Vic cost the same amount of money*
Train Man: You're not supposed to hop off in the middle of a journey.
Me: But I haven't completed my journey yet. So this ticket's still valid.
Train Man: ...But you're not supposed to do that.
Me: Okay, well, I'll buy another ticket if you want, but seeing as how the distance between here and Great Vic is free, it's not really going to affect me or you.
Train Man: ...It doesn't matter, just get on the train.

Wtf.

Got Dave his present. It stressed me out to no end, but I hope he likes what I finally picked for him.

REAL was amazing. Bluetree were playing and everyone was there and in general it was amazing. Followed by a trip to the kebab place. I didn't have anything but the smell was fantastic. Mmm. I could just sit in there and smell the air all day. Also Duddy was out despite having gladular fever. WHAT.

Today it snowed. And snowed and snowed and snowed...

Our tutor was stuck in traffic so we had to wait for him to show up. It was a boring tutorial so let's skip over that. Then I went to meet the chemistry folk for lunch, and much bant was had. The snow soaked right through my shoes and soaked my socks. Ew.

Hopped on the train home with a starbucks, got a taxi home, changed into something warm. I really have very little else to say, as I am cold, and only just now regaining any feeling in my fingers.

Back at uni! Here's a quick run-down of my week so far.

Monday:

Was good. Got time tables sorted, etc. Arrived in Ethnomusicology, my first class, excited to find out what it was all about...
Ethnomusicology: So eventually I found the room in the anthropology department and met up with the others there.
Random Girl: So, did you do this last semester?
Me: No, I did Sociology.
RG: Oh.... well, brace yourself.
Me: What?
RG: You'll see.

When our lecturer turned up, I heard another girl whisper 'Oh, crap, it's Crazy Tree Lady... she HATED me last semester!'
I began to worry.
Turned out CTL wasn't too bad. But I have two mature students in my class who are insane and insist on drawing attention to themselves and trying to look cool by name-dropping bands whose members are half their age etc... and they were WAY too pleased with themselves when they knew who Adam and the Ants were. Ugh. And they're in my tutorial group. Save me!
English (Modern Literature): Our lecturer swears and I drew Karl Marx in the margin of my notebook. I'm quite pleased with the likeness, actually. I think I'm going to enjoy this module. The books look pretty good.

Tuesday:
Trains were all cancelled. Magically got to class in time, despite this and also getting caught in the rain.
English (Cityscapes in Literature): Boring. No, I don't know what happened.THEN:
Lecturer: So anyone who's in the 11-12 tutorial on Friday, it's been moved to today. K? K.
Me: WHAT.
Becky: LMFAO is that you?

So I turned up at my tutorial with no reading done and no book with me. Except I did better than most because only two people showed up. The tutor must be a masters students rather than a Professor because she almost looked too young to teach. Scary.
Evening: Band Meeting: Got the church keys off Kirker and met Chloe at the church, recapped her on our workshop thing. Then Mel called and said he was bringing Mackie. This was good because we were worrying how to replace Johnny Luke after he backed out. So we talked about anyone else we were gonna bring into the thing and we decided on Wilson on drums. So far the lineup is:
Vocals: Chloe and possibly me
Gutiar: Me
Keys: Mackie
Drums: Wilson
Bass: Mel (frontman)

We are all very excited. We'll be talking Michael into joining us too once he gets used to his guitar so we can have lead and rhythm.

Wednesday (Today)
Driving Lesson: Was awesome. I have to book my test, says Ryan.
Work: Was boring.
Going to Dave's tonight. Yay!

It's all over! CRAI.

It went absolutely amazingly! DavyBbz also coined the nickname SlavyBbz for me on the final night. I can't WAIT till auditions for Oliver start, I miss all my friends from the company already and it's only been two days!

Also, Kirker was fantastic through the whole thing. If she hadn't taken over when the other directors had to leave then Aladdin never would've happened, and that would've majorly sucked! So kudos to Kirker!

Today marked the loudest high-five-in-a-quiet-public-place in history, as well as my handing in proof of my qualifications to Queen's. I was particularly pleased with my cover letter. I think it really made the whole thing look quite professional.

Last night was pinano. Forgot my book so it was half an hour of scales. Self-inflicted.

Last night after that was handing out the fliers round Greenisland with Kirker and Crooksie to promote the pantomime. It was cold, but kinda fun. I still don't know my way around that place.

Today was driving. Didn't go so well, not sure why I was so nervous since I've driven that route ten times better in previous lessons. Oh well. I can comfort myself in the knowledge that my driving couldn't possibly be as hideous as Todd's.

  1. Best rehearsal EVER.
  2. We love Kirker
  3. I just wanna make love to you.
  4. Too much coffee makes me bounce off the walls.
  5. Hands touch...
Oh, and I just got an e-mail from UCAS. This means that the status of my application has changed, meaning that I've been notified either way whether or not i got accepted for Psychology at Queens. So, let's go and find out, shall we...?

DRUMROLL.

...

WHOOOOOOO ACCEPTED.

So now I can choose to do either English or Psychology.

Awesome. 8D
